How to Use an Electric Toothbrush

There are many advantages associated with using an electric toothbrush. Some of the benefits of using one include enjoying a cleaner mouth and fresher breath. They are also safer and easier to use which means handicapped people and young teens can use them comfortably.

They are also a better options when it comes to protecting your gums and teeth from injury caused by over brushing or using too much force when cleaning your mouth. To brush your teeth using an electric toothbrush, apply some toothpaste on it so as to clean your mouth properly.

Before you start, make sure that the electric toothbrush has a good charge before you start using it. If your battery is weak, the electric toothbrush won’t have enough power to clean your teeth.

Using good toothpaste allows you to get rid of bacteria and other forms of dirt that might be present in the mouth. Since the head of the electric toothbrush is usually smaller than the manual toothbrush, make sure to use an adequate amount of toothpaste. Using too little might not give you very good results.

You may want to spread the toothpaste around your teeth by brushing lightly like you would with a manual toothbrush first. After that, you can start brushing normally by turning on the electric toothbrush and move it around.

Carefully and gently guide the electric toothbrush so as to cover all parts of your mouth. Make sure to do it slowly to give it time to clean your mouth properly. You can start by guiding it on the outer parts of your teeth found at the back of your mouth. Once both sides are clean, guide it to the front and outer teeth as well.

Place it on the inner part of the back teeth before guiding it to the front and inner parts of your teeth. Make sure not to apply too much force, because your electric toothbrush is already doing all the hard work. You only need to guide and direct it to that part of your mouth you want cleaned.

Some of you may want to clean your tongue using the toothbrush as well. It’s a decent alternative to using a tongue cleaner. After you finish brushing your mouth, gently placing it on your tongue. Be sure to clean the back, middle and front sections properly. Spit out the toothpaste and turn off the toothbrush.

Take a sip of clean water and gaggle it in your mouth and rinse off the toothpaste. Repeat this process until your mouth feels clean. It might feel a little uncomfortable using an electric toothbrush at first, but you’ll get used to it in no time!
